Re-branding project undertaken for national choral festival (Calgary, Alberta – 2018). Regional handover of quadrennial event hosting required update of existing brand to reflect new host location (Ottawa 2014 –> Calgary 2018)
Key concepts for logo included the integration of the existing brand with additional regional features. Overall logo shape reflects a cowboy hat, a nod to the “western” history, including the annual Calgary Stampede, of the future host city. The ribbon also echoes the city’s iconic Saddledome. A light font treatment conveys the youthfulness and dynamic energy of the 2018 host city.
